7th day after tonsillectomy , it's still painful- i did at appollo banalore?

i have removed tonsills last tuesday but still it is paining while taking water and food especially in the morning and nights. is it common symptom? i have been under medication i am taking tobla,augmentin and combiflame. early morning i am taking rabcib with empty stomach.i was gargling with betadine after every meal but it was very hard in swalloing. now i am gargling with desoral before meal and i am feeling little better in swallowing food.


Please tell me how long the pain will persist. do i need to change medicine or is it sufficient.


i have been on leave for more than a week. can i go to work in this conditions?


Please advice me in getting rid of pain and any tips to overcome pain and to recover soon.

extreme pain is very normal until day 10 post op. your scabs will fall off between day 8-9 and after that you will feel ten times better.


NO you cannot go back to work right now. did your dr not tell you how long to expect to be out of work either? you're not supposed to even leave the house until your 10 day post op check up. if the dr gives you the all clear then you can go back to work after that.
