Appollo MOON Flight brought back some Moon Rocks. what changes have been observed on the samples since then.?

All the astronauts who were on the Moon commented that lunar rocks material smelled like burnt gunpowder, but by the time the samples were examined on Earth, that smell was no longer detectable. Nobody knows why. Other than that I don't know of any changes.
