At the end of Rocky II, what would have happened if neither fighter got up at the count of ten?

of course, Rocky gets up at 9 and the referee holds his hand in triumph... but what would have happened if neither got up in time? appollo creed hit the ground first, so would he be technically counted out first?|||Apollo Creed retains his title. The next time you watch it, listen very carefully to the announcers talking in the background. As Rocky and Apollo are both trying to rise, the announcer states, "If neither gets up, it's a DRAW! And Creed will retain the title automatically!" You just have to listen closely, and try to block out Adrian praying at home for Rocky to "Get up!" and Mickey screaming from the ring apron,"Get on your feet!"

But the announcers do explain the different scenarios as both Rocky and Apollo are trying to rise in slow motion.

I would also suggest to you to watch the very beginning of Rocky 3 again. They show that very same scene from the ending of Rocky 2. But the beginning of Rocky 3 may have slightly better audio.

The bottom line. If neither gets up it is declared a Technical draw. In that case, Apollo Creed retains his Heavyweight Title.

Believe it or not, that would also go in the books as a "Successful Title Defense" for Apollo Creed because he fought the challenger and still retained his Heavyweight Championship.|||Since the rules of boxing have changed as for number of rounds in a fight etc. (15 back then, and 12 now) as well as more than 3 sanctioning bodies with different rules for each,

for arguments sake, if a fighter doesn't get up by the 10 count, it's a k.o. and if both don't get up, it could either be called a technical draw, or a no-contest. In either case, the Champion, Apollo would retain his title.

So, good thing Sly can read a script that he wrote himself and remember how to count after all of those accumulated fake punches and the steroids he took to get that ripped.

Way to go 'Rocko'!!!|||it would be a draw or no contest.

or simply put- nobody wins|||I think it would be ruled a no-contest or maybe a draw? The champion would retain his belt and a rematch would probably be rescheduled. Lol it was a movie so obviously Rocky would win lol. Loved the Rocky series except for number one. That one was kind of **** for me lol..|||There would have been a major legal case as Rocky fell throwing a punch and no-one calls that a knockdown, but the ref was counting him out. Apollo went down under a punch, so it was a legitamate KO. The count was also off as Apollo hit the deck first.|||Technical draw or no decision.

But this doesn't happen in real boxing. It's a movie so Rocky will Always get up, even if Godzilla is the opponent.|||Well of course Rocky gets up at 9...If he didn't the movie would be screwed up haha...

If it was at 10 they would schedule a rematch if they would not go on after 10.

Hope I helped I LOVED the rocky series...I watched all 6 or 7
